First Fashion: Our Favorites from What’s New

I'm in no mood to wrap up for fall, but that doesn't mean I'm not itching to shop for it. Here, three jackets in contention to win my heart.
Sporty and definitely all-purpose, I know I’d get a lot of wear out of this versatile piece. Seaton - Field Jacket
Leather. Vince. Oversized collar. I needn’t say more, but I’ll add that I coveted this one from the moment it showed up in our warehouse. Vince - Asymmetrical Leather Biker Jacket
This classic little number is reminiscent of the leather beauty above, and there’s something so very appealing about its lightweight feel. Theory - Emilen Jacket
And the winner is? I may just have to get all three. Find your favorites in What’s New.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What’s New

Yesterday was one of those not-enough-hours-in-the-day days, so today, I’m looking for some comfort clothes.
I’ll start with just about the softest thermal tee I’ve ever touched. And, as if that weren’t enough, they went and added too-cute-for-words stars to the mix. Free People - Fading Stars Thermal Crew Tee
I’m a Splendid faithful through and through. I’m pretty sure part of my closet could pass as one of their showrooms, which can only mean this cozy cardi will be a welcome addition. Splendid - Slub Jersey Cardigan
Now, even the comfiest girls need to change out of the sweats once in a while, but I’m staying à l’aise with this easy-to-wear, easy-to-dress-up little creation. Theory - Trois Combo Short Dress

Packing (for the) Heat

In my book, there’s no bigger end-of-the-weekend buzz-kill than hauling a bag stuffed with unworn shoes/handbags/dresses/tops/shorts out to the cab/car/jitney. I’m hot. I’m usually hung-over. I’m tempted to abandon it all at the curb. Adding insult to injury? I have to unpack said items once I get home. (Or, in my case, ten days later.) This summer I’m on a mission to perfect the art of weekend packing. My weapons of choice? Three multi-tasking, travel-friendly pieces that go from day to date, boardwalk to barstool.

Elegant enough for a nice dinner out, yet breezy enough for a walk down the beach, this sweeping, strapless number from Theory is one of my favorite recent finds.

Comfy as a flip-flop but markedly fancier, metallic flat sandals are pretty much my favorite thing to wear in the summer. An added bonus? They take up just a sliver of space in my bag.

This roomy, oversized clutch is exactly the right size for a magazine or two and my absolute essentials, yet it’s chic and polished enough for evening.

Now the question remains: What to do with the time I used to spend fighting with the zipper on my Samsonite Sunday morning…

First Fashion: The Best of What’s New

For me, most days are classic days, and today I have three excellent reasons to keep that trend going.
If I could wear Velvet every day of the week, I would, and lucky for me, this dress is bringing me one step closer to that goal. Dressed up or down, it’s perfection. (Velvet - Becca Dress)
A timeless trench is a wardrobe must-have, and this little ditty from Rag & Bone is about as classic as they come. I know I’ll wear it for years. (Rag & Bone - Mac Trench)
The silhouette is pure elegance, yes, but this pair’s true beauty is on the inside. A padded footbed makes wearing them the equivalent of walking on clouds, and the hidden platform gives height without taking me into ankle-twisting territory. (Theory - Bijan Patent Pump)
You know there’s more. Find it in What’s New.

First Fashion: The Best of What’s New

Countless examples of modern chic arrive at shopbop every day, and we’d be doing you a disservice if we didn’t tell you we find a few eye-catching standouts to covet each and every one of those days. That’s why we’re bringing you First Fashion, your morning look at our favorites in What’s New. Have some style with your coffee.

Today, three equally snazzy pieces have caught my eye:

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a little handbag obsessed or, more specifically, ridiculous-to-the-point-of-embarrassment obsessed. I embrace it, and this little wonder is a perfect example why. The subtly distressed leather will wear so well, and it’s even big enough to carry my laptop. (Foley + Corinna Savvy Tourista Bag, in Dark Brown)

This year has marked a real movement toward eco-friendly fashion, and I hope it turns into a long-term trend. Signs it’ll stick are good when big names like Theory take on the cause. Their organic linen line is as fantastically classic as it is earth friendly, which translates to very. (Theory Organic Linen Tendreil Dress, in Natural)

The first suede item of the pre-fall season has arrived at shopbop, and I’ve been waiting for this day since the fall shows in February. I’m already working on figuring out a way to work these gorgeous pumps into my current repertoire. Oh, and the deep plum color? Divine. (Kate Spade Karolina Suede Pump, in Plum)
