First Fashion: Our Favorites from What’s New

Our tuxedo-inspired front page has me thinking about menswear dressing, and I happened to find three perfect pieces in today’s What’s New.
The ideal button-down, this one’s just long enough to wear with leggings. Steven Alan - The Boyfriend Shirt
And when picking out leggings, only Splendid will do. How do they make them so soft? Splendid - Modal Leggings
The perfect shoe for this minimalist ensemble? These statement booties, natch. Report Signature - Clinton Ankle Bootie
Now all I need is a blazer and my dad’s old chunky watch and this ensemble will be set.

Splendid Styles

The basics so brilliant they deserve to be called Splendid? They've become the backbone of every fashionable gal's wardrobe. What started as a T-shirt line that included a mere nine styles back in 2002 has since grown into an extensive collection that includes tanks, thermals, dresses, shorts, pants, and blouses in refined jersey, French terry, sweet stripes, and delicate prints. In short? The kind of comfy-yet-cute styles we can never seem to have too many of. But don't take our word for it, see all sorts of new Splendid right here, at shopbop.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What’s New

Yesterday was one of those not-enough-hours-in-the-day days, so today, I’m looking for some comfort clothes.
I’ll start with just about the softest thermal tee I’ve ever touched. And, as if that weren’t enough, they went and added too-cute-for-words stars to the mix. Free People - Fading Stars Thermal Crew Tee
I’m a Splendid faithful through and through. I’m pretty sure part of my closet could pass as one of their showrooms, which can only mean this cozy cardi will be a welcome addition. Splendid - Slub Jersey Cardigan
Now, even the comfiest girls need to change out of the sweats once in a while, but I’m staying à l’aise with this easy-to-wear, easy-to-dress-up little creation. Theory - Trois Combo Short Dress

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What's New

Summer is (officially) underway, and I’ve come to realize there are a few pieces out there that are must-haves for the season.
Lightweight Jersey
Casual, sexy, and ridiculously comfortable, jersey tops (like this one from 291) are perfect for the summer. Add a scoop back and a little tie-dye, and I’ve got the perfect top for catching cool breezes on a sweltering Saturday night.
Unique Footwear
Everyone and their sister is out flip-flopping in some sort of sandal, and the last thing I want is to saunter up to the bar, only to realize that every other girl lined up along the zinc is wearing some clone of the same strappy shoe. Can’t happen with this cool pair from Dolce Vita.
Effortless Dress
At shopbop we’ve been extolling the charms of the summer dress for weeks, and my love of its insta-chic properties and flattering silhouettes has not waned. This jersey number from Splendid is the epitome of simple style.

Passion for Jersey

Jersey. To be perfectly honest, we could wax philosophical about the wonders of the knit fabric for hours. The way it drapes, its ability to flatter every curve, the comfort (oh, the comfort!). But the two brands that upstage our gushing with action? Ella Moss and Splendid. Their dresses, tops, pants, and shorts are equal parts plush coziness and feminine style. Even better? New styles have just arrived. Find your own passion for jersey, right here, at shopbop.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What's New

I’m giving in to my lust for a high-low mix.
MICHAEL Michael Kors’ zebra-striped satchel is the right mix of high fashion allure and eye-catching camp.
The Wham sandal mixes grown-up patent leather with grade-school Velcro closures. I’m smitten with the matte platform and completely reasonable heel.
I’ll match these two pieces with this checked camisole from Splendid and perfect my charming I-barely-look-in-the-mirror-because-I-know-I-look-great attitude.

June Style File: Lazy Summer Days

It's that time of year when days grow long and the sun bakes the earth, when leisure is invited, welcomed, relished. It's summer, and our wardrobe demands comfort and a little laissez-faire attitude, which is why we turn to casual tops from the likes of C&C California and Splendid, Free People and Ella Moss. We throw them on with shorts by Vince and Joie, or we wear them as cover-ups with bikinis from Rachel Pally and Brette Sandler. Those lazy days are here. Read more in the June Style File, only at shopbop.

Also in the Style File:
  • Straight to Video: Our Denim Guide's going viral this month!
  • Birds & Bees: The season's sweetest looks are inspired by nature.
  • Sunny Disposition: Appreciate the finer things with summer styles from the Designer Boutique.

First Fashion: The Best of What's New

Jersey and sandals are the perfect fair weather friends.
Soft jersey, great fit, and thoughtful detail? All these are combined in Lauren Conrad’s Jackie Tube Top. With subtle ruching at the bust and a shape that will flatter anyone, this top is at the top of my Wish List.
I spent all fall and winter accumulating cozy flats and boots, and now that the threat of frost is finally gone, I’ve been searching for a pair of sandals to show off my freshly painted toes. Botkier’s Ginger Metallic Ring Sandal gives an extra kick with hammered metal rings and goes perfectly with both Cara Mia Crimson and I’m Not Really a Waitress.
>I love pajamas. Old pajamas. Pajamas that have been through the wash so often they are allllmost threadbare – and probably the softest article of clothing on the planet. Some days, all I want to wear is something that soft but still respectable and cute. Thank the t-shirt gods for Splendid’s Very Light Tee. Incredibly soft jersey and the perfect t-shirt fit? Um, I will probably stock up on these like I stocked up on toilet paper in December 1999.

First Fashion: The Best of What’s New

Countless examples of modern chic arrive at shopbop every day, and we’d be doing you a disservice if we didn’t tell you we find a few eye-catching standouts to covet each and every one of those days. That’s why we’re bringing you First Fashion, your morning look at our favorites in What’s New. Have some style with your coffee.

Today, I have summer dresses on the mind, mostly because of these knockout pieces of eye candy:

With summer’s arrival comes a deluge of wedding invites, and with that, the search for a dress. This sweet frock is perfection. (Shoshanna Strapless Bubble Dress, in Kelly Green)

This little Juicy number is date-night flirtatiousness, and with a crisp white jacket, it can pull off office fun too. (Juicy Couture Scallop Dress with Belt, in Cherry Pie)

For those lazy days summer is prone to, this dress makes being comfy and looking coolly chic one and the same. (Splendid Jersey & Habotai Strapless Dress, in White)

Every great dress deserves an equally great bag, and Tory Burch’s Provence Metallic Woven Clutch is perfect with absolutely everything. You know there’s much more. Find it in What’s New.
