Hold Everything!

The bag that's been with us every day for the past six months? Not to sound ungrateful, but lately it's started to bore us a bit. And while we're not saying we're ready to blow it off entirely, we've decided it's time for us to take a break. What attractive newcomers are turning our heads? We've got a major crush on Jack Rabbit Collection's vintage elegance and Muxo's luxe hippie look, and new posh yet practical styles from established favorites Cynthia Rowley and Rebecca Minkoff show it's possible to carry everything but the kitchen sink and still look stylish. Ready for a new bag BFF? Get yours, right here at shopbop.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What’s New

I just read this quote about buying clothes for the life you actually lead. Does this resonate with anyone else? It does with me. But after much trial and error (and many years of wrestling with a closet filled with items better suited to a Broadway costume designer) I’ve finally found the staples I live in.
I’m always on the lookout for offbeat little flats. These keep me mobile for whatever the day holds and the grosgrain bow gives them that wry, irreverent quality I associate (for no real reason) with cool British women.

I used to carry this ginormous bag with me at all times, telling myself it was practical, until it dawned on me: doing that awkward knee-balance thing while digging into the depths of my bag for the eighth time that day wasn’t practical, it was downright annoying. This roomy (but not ridiculously so) Rebecca Minkoff holds everything I need and its structured shape feels chic, not sloppy. Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini Bag
Too early for cashmere? Not for those of us who spend our days in aggressively air-conditioned environments. A cashmere cardigan is the definition of everyday luxury for me—I snap up nearly every new Vince one that comes along. Vince One Button Cashmere Cardigan

Monday à la Moss!

On my better days? I fancy myself the bookish, Midwestern, sedate version of Kate Moss. (On my worse days I think I look like the love child of Axel Rose and Janice from The Muppets, but that’s another matter entirely.) And few things bring me quite as much joy as being able to recreate Kate’s effortless cool with items from right here at shopbop.

This classic Kate look starts with gray J Brand skinnies, a white V-neck tee (I love the little pocket on LNA’s) and a studded gladiator. (Even better? These L.A.M.B. ones are on sale.) Ray-Ban Wayfarers are a hipster essential this season, and a Thea Grant pendant is the perfect combination of sweetly pretty and found-object cool. A slouchy black bag (I love Rebecca Minkoff's) stores all manner of must-haves.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What’s New

Today, I’m in full shoes and handbags mode.
Having spent a bit of time in France, I appreciate a good baguette and a dry red, and this little bag puts them both right up front. Better still, it’s eco-friendly in more ways than one. (Rebecca Minkoff - Bread & Wine Bag)
Where the Bread & Wine Bag is great for day, this little clutch is perfect for night. The leather and style kind of make me feel like a devilish biker chick, and I love it. (Kettle Black - Studded Clutch)
Since the first two don’t match a bit, why should the third? These pumps are sleek and elegant and will transition brilliantly from late summer into fall. (Report Signature - Gala Sling Back Pump)
There are more accessories (and clothes too) where that came from. Find them in What’s New.
