First Fashion: Our Favorites From What's New

Sad but true: at this point in the year, I’ve all but given up on my summer wardrobe, kicked it to the curb, left it for dead. My fickle fashion heart? It only wants fall, Fall, FALL! Some soon-to-be favorite pieces I see making it into heavy rotation? So far I’ve found these:
The perfect little luxe-yet-laid-back style for layering over everything. This plus skinnies plus boots equals my go-to cool-weather look. (VPL Martha Cashmere Wrap)
After one too many moments spent digging to the bottom of my massive everyday bag in a dark bar searching for some essential item, I’ve decided it’s time I acquire a proper (but not precious) evening carry-all. This one’s plenty glam and keeps all those must-haves at my fingertips. (Botkier Metallic Rex Small Shoulder Bag)
Unlike most of the once-beloved pieces I’ve spent the last three months in (maxi dress, long tank, slouchy tee, leggings? I’m talking to you), my red-hot romance with the vest is continuing into fall. The subtle metallic threads and fabric-covered buttons make this one feel really special. (Karen Zambos Vintage Couture Fitted Vest)
Farewell summer style loves! Right now it’s all about fall. Find your new fashion friends in What’s New.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What’s New

Fashion forward yet not so avant-garde as to be un-wearable for everyday, VPL is one of my favorite lines of all time. Here, my first three VPL picks of the season:
I’ll wear this slouchy-chic style now with a tank, little shorts, and gladiators, and later with jeans and boots.
VPL Low O Sweater, Tar
Understated enough to wear on a date with a mild-mannered sort of dude, yet fashion-y enough that I don’t feel like a carbon copy of every other lady at the bar. Brilliant. VPL S Bend Dress
Feminine with a cool conceptual edge. I’m pairing this standout piece with cropped skinnies and flats for Friday night. VPL Tie T
Pre-fall styles for now and later? Pick your favorites from What’s New.

Naughty by Nature

Plain and practical may have their place, but that place is not our lingerie drawer. Nope, when it comes to our unmentionables, we're going full-tilt bombshell in Cosabella and Elle Macpherson Intimates, or irreverently seductive in fashion-forward styles from VPL and The Lake & Stars. Because even if our outfit says "I'm the epitome of understated chic" we want our lingerie to whisper "I could ruin you if given half the chance." New lingerie looks to bring out your inner vamp? They're right here, at shopbop.

Spring Romp

When the usual shorts-and-tee combo seems too casual but a dress feels too, well, dress-y? I rock a romper. This utilitarian-chic style from Ever is so good with gladiators, and I just wore this neo-preppy Marc one for Mother’s Day brunch. Not just for day mind you, evening-worthy rompers from VPL and Loeffler Randall are a sexy, modern choice for a night out. And when I’m feeling nostalgic? I reach for this strapless number from T-Bags. Reminiscent of something my achingly glamorous aunt would’ve worn, circa 1979, this style brings me back to a simpler time, when my mom slathered on baby oil before baking herself in the backyard and saccharine was considered a health food. (Can of Tab and Kool & the Gang 8-Track optional.)
